The Mission: Cover up a depression in the ground with sod
We had many rolls of sod, and a big pile of soil, and this is what we used to fill in the ditch. Using edgers, we dug a straight lane along the channel, and cut the sod to size. Then we dumped a ridge of soil in the channel and laid the sod on top. From there, we pushed the sod down to make sure that it would grow, and then watered it a ton. The first week of the sod being laid, it requires a lot of water to ensure that the sod takes and continues to grow. On the first day of sod, we tried to water it using buckets and watering cans, but soon realized how inefficient that was. So after that, we connected five hoses and dragged it down the hill in order to water it. Most people involved in the sod project tended to stick with one job that they were good at. The majority of people helped by cutting, digging, leveling the soil and laying down the sod, as that was the biggest part, but a couple others like Nick, Maddie, and Parker helped by setting up the hose and watering the sod.
